Aggregation pages are used as a way to gather and present related content. There are two aggregation page templates used on nature.org, the Aggregation Automated Page Template and the Aggregation Manual Page Template.
Review the information on this page to learn how both page types can be used and to see examples from nature.org.
Aggregation Automated Page Template
The Aggregation Automated page template is designed and used for collections of stories or pages on a single theme. The template is “automated” because the page author will designate a content tag to use in the Article Aggregation component and all pages with that tag will be pulled onto the page automatically.
Most chapters and programs use this template for their aggregated article pages (e.g. Stories in Georgia). This template is also used for other types of collections, such as the Our People page with aggregated staff bios and for the Find Local Events & Opportunities page with aggregated event listings.
There are four configurable sections of the Aggregation Automated page template and each section allows for a specific components. Below are the sections and components available to use in each section:
Configurable Sections | Available Components |
---|---|
Hero | C09 Hero Image |
Intro | C11 Title Text Call to Action C19 Tab Container C35 Connect Callout |

Page Properties
For every page built in every template, there are 5 tabs to fill out in the page properties. Those tabs are the 1) Basic Tab, 2) Image Tab, 3) OG Tab, 4) SEO Tab, and 5) Template-Specific Tab. For guidance on completing tabs 1-4, visit the guide to common page properties.
For pages built in the Aggregation (Auto) page template, the 5th tab is labeled "Aggregation (Automated)" as shown in the image to the left. There is only one field to fill out.
- Audience tag: Use ONLY if you are creating an aggregation page with a specific and exclusive audience in mind that you are targeting. An example of an Audience Tag is "Media," which is a tag that may be used on a press release.
Aggregation Manual Page Template
The Aggregation Manual page template is designed and used to visually display a curated collection. These collections can include various types of content including reports, document listings, eCards, or Newsletters. The example manually aggregated page is a collection of reports and tools. The template is “manual” because the page author will choose each page or asset to include individually, rather than setting a specific parameter.
Aggregation Manual pages can live in various sections across nature.org.
